Over The Black Rainbow

Posted on Saturday, February 9, 2013

Hey!
Last week was the coldest day that Chicago has had all winter and of corse in our minds that equaled = photo shoot? Yes. This was the coldest one in Chloé Akari photo shoot history! Keep warm. Taking a break from school, Ariel and I walked into the alley and visited the good old roof! I know that I have been wearing lots of black but it is just my favorite color and looks strong. There is not a real reason for it. I hope you like this interesting modern/ vintage inspired shoot.
Enjoy,

-Chloé Akari

Chloé's outfit: Jenni Kayne fur vest, vintage dress and hat from France, HUE tights, American Apparel socks, and Y.R.U creepers.

Hey guys!
It has finally been snowing here in Chicago!
My friend Eve texted me asking to be the photographer in one of my blog posts.
She also was practicing for her photo class.
I wanted to show and style up some new items that I have added to my closet recently.
If you spied with your little eyes then you saw my new creepers! I found them in California over break!
I also have found a few more gems, floral knee high socks, plum lipstick, and a bug necklace.
I am very much enjoying my new finds.
Sarah, Eve and I had a great time together in the freezing cold!
Enjoy!

Kitten's and The Ballerina

Hey guys!
Maddie and I were missing ballet. This shoot is a scramble of different things, tiger tights, diamonds, vintage bunny fur jacket, dad's pants, and the freezing old Chicago weather. I found my coat in California during break and I just had to have it. It was in a little vintage store that had a good collection of a bunch of things called, Yellowstone Vintage. My pants that I am wearing make me laugh because they are so oversized but I like them a lot. Maddie's tiara and princess like out against my odd oversized outfit is a perfect example of my style because of how mixed up and ranged it is. I hope you enjoy this shoot! I am finally finished with finals so everything about posting should be back to normal.

Hive Fashion: Styling Event

Posted on Friday, January 18, 2013

Hello, the time has come. FINALS... I am sorry for not posting last week but I have had so much going on! Anyways, earlier this week on Monday night I went to a Hive Fashion event. I have been working with the Hive Fashion program every week lead by Cheryl Pope and Avri Coleman. Hive Fashion is about bringing the youth interested in fashion together, teaching new, innovating and fresh knowledge. Every week we learn about something new and have a project each meeting. There are three separate groups that one could have applied for Curator of Style, Documentarian, and lastly the one I am on, Designer. This event was a styling challenge, there was a pile of clothes in the middle of the room and we had to pick from it and get draping! My group worked well together using: a inside out blouse (conveniently having perfect ruffles on the shoulders!), a upside down skirt, black fabric, triangular shaped piece of black foam, a hood from a winter coat, two paper napkins and other scraps of fabric. The only thing we needed to complete this look was a pair of creepers or platforms of some sort! I had a lot of fun styling this outfit with my friend from my SAIC fall class Maria! Also our model Ube did a great job, thank you Ube! I hope you enjoy this styled up look!
