Hive Fashion: Styling Event

Hello, the time has come. FINALS... I am sorry for not posting last week but I have had so much going on! Anyways, earlier this week on Monday night I went to a Hive Fashion event. I have been working with the Hive Fashion program every week lead by Cheryl Pope and Avri Coleman. Hive Fashion is about bringing the youth interested in fashion together, teaching new, innovating and fresh knowledge. Every week we learn about something new and have a project each meeting. There are three separate groups that one could have applied for Curator of Style, Documentarian, and lastly the one I am on, Designer. This event was a styling challenge, there was a pile of clothes in the middle of the room and we had to pick from it and get draping! My group worked well together using: a inside out blouse (conveniently having perfect ruffles on the shoulders!), a upside down skirt, black fabric, triangular shaped piece of black foam, a hood from a winter coat, two paper napkins and other scraps of fabric. The only thing we needed to complete this look was a pair of creepers or platforms of some sort! I had a lot of fun styling this outfit with my friend from my SAIC fall class Maria! Also our model Ube did a great job, thank you Ube! I hope you enjoy this styled up look!

California Gold

Hello!

I can not apologize more about my lack of posting this week but I have had so much work lately and finals are coming up so don't kill me! I went to Santa Barbra, California over break and had the best time not doing much. Every day I went to the beach and slept in it was great. Danielle and I also went paddle boarding a lot, hence the wetsuit. The only thing that was bad was that I got sick along with everyone else I know. The pictures I have here for you today are fisheye film, I got a fisheye film camera for Christmas! More presents will be shown in up and coming posts! Also this gold head is something I made on the last day I was there. I hand painted it gold and stuck everything else on with hot glue. I had fun doing that with my sister and grandmother. On the top of her head she has a crown of toys ranging from legos, horses, and a barbie. I like her and hope you guys like her too! I would love any feedback you have! This post is not fashiony at all I realize and I'm sorry about that but I did not do a photo shoot but will be posting/ doing one soon so stay tuned! I hope you enjoy my art and new photography!

2012 UNPUBLISHED

 Happy New Year!

For me 2012 was a year of moving forward and experiencing new things. I had a lot of fun and only hope that 2013 will be even better. I wish everyone happiness, peace and luck this year. Welcome to the unpublished version of 2012. I tried to make this as chronological as I could, so it is close to being in order! This post is filled with pictures of clips from photo shoots, vacation scenery, places I've gone, unpublished photo shoot pics, a sketch of mine, art, my friends and I, and my most memorable times in 2012 that were photographed.
