Livestrong and Egg-straordinarily

Posted on Sunday, December 27, 2015

Hello!
Happy holidays and to my fellow college peers, yay finals are over! After days of straight studying, my friends and I decided to take a study break and head downtown. We decided to take an adventure and go to the Kate Werble Gallery to see Christopher Chiappa's Livestrong exhibit. When entering the gallery we made sure to watch where we were walking because there were fried eggs everywhere. When standing in the middle of the room surrounded by the eggs there was an overwhelming feeling that was evoked for me. It is interesting because a fried egg is a familiar everyday object but is out of place on the walls and the ground. Each of the eggs are handmade and made in batches by Christopher Chiappa in his studio in Long Island. He explains the exhibit as an “infestation: cheerful on the surface, with something spreading underneath.” I decided to wear black and white to this exhibit to contrast the saturated yellow yolks. I mixed a few new pieces of mine with some old ones. If you are visiting New York or live in New York, I recommend going to see the exhibit.

Enjoy,

Riverside Strolls

Posted on Sunday, November 29, 2015

Hello,
I hope everyone had a nice holiday. The other day my friend and I went on a walk through Riverside Park. The park was absolutely beautiful! There were so many different colors surrounding the entire park. Due to the change in weather that has swept through, my outerwear options have expanded drastically. One of my favorite pieces that I have found here so far is my cashmere wrap. The wrap is so warm and easy to throw on over everything. I highly recommend picking up a wrap for this season! Stay warm!

Stay Chic While Studying

Posted on Wednesday, November 18, 2015

Hello and happy fall!
Since I have been in school since early September, I thought it was only necessary that I show some of my "college style". My school style verses my out of class style is not much different. When I put together my outfit in the morning I take into account the weather, the amount of classes I have, and my tasks for the day. Weather is the most obvious because that is the ultimate outfit decider. The number of classes and tasks then decide my shoe choice because I can't last all day in some of my shoes. (But is pain right?) A tip for the students around the world who spend more time in the library then they would like to admit... If you wear something that you feel good in you will be more inclined to get your work done. So ditch the sweatpants along with procrastination! As the weather here in New York changes the colors do as well. My campus is even more stunning right now because of all the trees changing color; I love it!

Gray Skies in SoHo

Posted on Thursday, November 12, 2015

Hello,
The other day my friend Emily and I went down to SoHo to have a fun day of exploring. We went location scouting, did a little shopping, and had a wonderful lunch. It was a perfect cloudy day, hence all my gray. I love monochromatic dressing because I think it looks very clean. When dressing in one color you should try to incorporate detail and/ or shape into your look. Don't be scared of the "groutfit" (all gray outfit) because often times it can look great! Usually a monochromatic outfit will look best with neutral or muted colors. For fall my suggested colors are: gray, black, navy, and plum.

Enjoy,

A New Beginning

Posted on Tuesday, November 3, 2015

Hello and happy fall!
Here in New York the fall has just started to come in! It is crazy to think that I have now lived in New York for 2 months! I absolutely love it here! This is the beginning of my adventure here in New York. I have been extremely busy with school, hence the lack of posting... Allee, one of my oldest friends came to visit me the other weekend, so I decided to show her a few of my favorite spots in the city. The Meatpacking District is such a lovely neighborhood and cool spot to hangout in! As we walked the High Line after eating an amazing lunch at Standard Grill, Allee and I did some apartment hunting for the future (we can keep dreaming). I decided to style our looks to be "casual-polished" because we were very much on the go. We had such a lovely day shopping, eating, and walking around. Get ready for exciting news and more posts coming soon!

Enjoy,

Location: The High Line
Allee's look: Brooks Brothers wrap, Valentino top, Nordstrom black jeans, and Cole Haan oxfords.
My look: Jill Sander top, Whistles leather skirt, Balenciaga handbag, and Jeffrey Campbell platforms.

Italy S'15

Posted on Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Hello!
I do apologizes for the lateness of this post! Right after my amazing trip to Paris, my family and I went to Italy. Since I graduated we wanted to have one last celebration and fun bonding trip. We went to Rome, Tuscany, Florence, Venice, and Milan. Let me just say Italy was amazing! I loved it so much, I could go on forever about my phenomenal summer but I will spare you and give the highlights instead. In Rome we spend our days divided between, touring and shopping/ escaping the heat. It was SO hot when we were there, I think the coldest day was 96º. The three places you have to go in Rome are: the Forum, the Vatican Museum, and the Borghese Gallery. The Azzedine Alaïa exhibit that I saw there was spectacular! The fashion was showcased with the art in the museum which made the experience much more glamorous. While shopping near the Spanish Steps I stumbled upon an Italian handbag store called Badura, they had such unique bags! Check them out! Next was Tuscany, it was all green and sunshine. We had a relaxing day at the pool with my best friend overlooking the mountains and vineyards. Then came my personal favorite, Venice. Venice is like no other place in the world. Being in Venice felt so surreal because you are in such a remarkable city with beautiful colored buildings and stunning wooden boats everywhere. When we arrived we took one of the water taxis which made our arrival so much more glamorous. Last but not least was Milan. Although we didn't spend much time in Milan I loved it! The vibe of the city was a mix of Barcelona and Paris. I was very impressed with the shopping in Milan, we found many cool places when we were walking around. My mom and I went to La Rinascente which is a restaurant on the rooftop of a department store overlooking the Duomo. Our night couldn't have been better. They played such great music and the people who were eating looked like they were artists or in the fashion industry. Overall, Italy was incredible!

Enjoy,
