Projecting Positivity

Posted on Thursday, November 17, 2016

Hello!
I wish everyone a restful weekend and peaceful Thanksgiving. I encourage you all to reflect on what you appreciate in life and project love instead of hate. Even though this month has brought up an immense amount of tension I have been trying to be optimistic about the future. Sometimes putting on a favorite outfit can really lift your mood. Personally I've been throwing on various pairs of sparkly socks. There is something special about the unexpected glitter that peeps out from my shoes. In this post I wore one of my favorite dresses and popped on some glitter socks! (I do have to say it brightened my mood) For your "treat yo self" of the week I recommend buying a pair. Enjoy the beauty of fall.

Cheers!

Empowerment and Elegance

Posted on Friday, October 14, 2016

Hello!
I am excited to show you "Empowerment and Elegance" my editorial photo series featuring Allee Struve. I was inspired by the 21st Century woman, self expression, and dreams. When styling this shoot I played with mixing vintage and new pieces to contrast the past and the present. The dreamy and open background of the shoot represents a dream-like environment. Allee and I drove out to the middle of nowhere to find a cornfield (which was much harder than we expected). We finally stubbled upon a throne-like tree stump that was absolute perfection. Allee embodies sublime strength and beauty. I hope you enjoy this photo series! Click to enlarge photos.

Cheers!

NYFW SS17

Posted on Friday, September 23, 2016

Hello!
As my favorite month of the year (fashion month aka September) comes to an end, I have finally been able to compose a photo diary for you. This season I was helping backstage for Libertine and Baja East! Like last season my experience was surreal. The energy that NYFW exudes is like nothing else. The Libertine show was fantastic. There is something about the Libertine show that transports you to a different place. Only good vibes and originality are allowed. I think that SS17 was one of Libertine's strongest collections. At Baja East, the show was in a parking garage which was crazy. The grungy, dark aesthetic was perfection for the Baja East show. The models had black greased eyelids and wore headbands to emphasize the nonchalant dirty-chic look. The collection was effortlessly chic. (exciting side note: Baja East posted my photo on their insta!) I was fortunate enough to attend the Jill Stuart show as a guest. The cuts were very sleek and clean. My favorite pieces from her collection were the two white looks below. The color scheme was light and springy. To end the week in celebration I attended the Zang Toi after party with Hannah at The Sixty Hotel. The hotel's decor was sophisticated with a splash of vintage. My overall experience of this season was extraordinary! Please enjoy my photo diary of the week!

Cheers!

Chloé Akari X Warby Parker

Posted on Saturday, September 3, 2016

Hello!
This past week I had the pleasure of wearing several Warby Parker glasses. I was able to choose 5 pairs of glasses online. The Warby Parker website was very user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. I highly recommend checking their website or stopping by at one of their stores. The pictures below display how glasses can be worn to any occasion. I had so much fun wearing them around! My personal favorite were the "Haskell" frames (the first picture below). A good pair of clear framed glasses is as rare as an excellent iced chai (trust me on this). I have to say in the past, wearing glasses has made me feel a bit nerdy but all of these frames did quite the opposite. Glasses show character and are an essential accessory to have in your wardrobe. Warby Parker and Kill Screen just did a collaboration and created a beautiful pair of "Glacier Grey" glasses. The nice thing about Warby Parker glasses is that they help frame your personal style ;-)

Cheers!
